Office 2016 and 2019 End of Support for 365 Services – Starting October 10, 2023 | ||
ALERT: | Starting October 10, 2023, Microsoft will no longer support Office 2016 and Office 2019 applications connecting to Microsoft 365 services. These Office versions might continue to function with Microsoft 365 services after this date. However, users might experience problems with performance or reliability as a result of that connection not being supported.
Microsoft will no longer test Microsoft 365 services with Office 2016 and Office 2019 after October 10, 2023. Therefore, even if you can connect Office 2016 or Office 2019 to Microsoft 365 services, security, compliance, and productivity updates might not function properly, and users might encounter performance or reliability issues. |

ACTION: |
Although Microsoft won’t take any active steps to prevent these older Office versions from connecting to Microsoft 365 services, the suggested course of action is to upgrade to the Microsoft 365 apps for the Enterprise (previously known as Office 365 Pro Plus) or Office 2021 versions. By doing this, users will have access to the most recent features, security updates, and support.
